History, technology and art

Museums present things of importance, quality and uniqueness - some exhibits are all of these things. As a guest in a museum, you cannot help but feel a certain humility towards the creators of the objects on display - a sign of respect and admiration for their achievements.

It doesn't matter whether they are works of art, historical artefacts or everyday objects. Everything was created once - by human hands or by nature.

The museum landscape in Speyer is very diverse for a city of its size. The Technik Museum, for example, attracts half a million visitors to the Rhine every year. The Historical Museum of the Palatinate regularly impresses with its excellently curated special exhibitions and the SchPIRA Museum is dedicated to Speyer's second world cultural heritage site, the SchUM site in the Judenhof. The work of important artists in Speyer is commemorated in the Purrmann and Feuerbach houses and the Sophie von la Roche parlour.
