Directions and parking

To get to Speyer by car, we recommend taking the A61. From the Speyer interchange, take the B9 (towards Speyer) and then the B39 (towards the city center) into the city.

You can also take the B39 directly from the German Wine Route or from the right bank of the Rhine. From Karlsruhe, the B9 is the most sensible route.

The best place to park is at the fairground (Festplatz) south of the cathedral. From here, it is less than a 3-minute walk to the cathedral and you are already in the city center.
There are 720 parking spaces available at the Festplatz, which is open around the clock. You pay €2 for two hours, and a day ticket costs €5. Parking tickets can be paid for at the ticket machines with the appropriate coins or an EC card. Mobile phone parking via app is also possible. The navigation address is Geibstraße 2, 67346 Speyer.

During the spring and fall fairs and the Pretzel Festival, the fairgrounds are used as a festival site. Alternatively, you can use the Naturfreundehaus parking lot (Geibstraße 1, 67346 Speyer) across the street. The parking conditions are the same as at the fairgrounds.

Electric vehicles
Electric vehicles can park free of charge at the fairground. The prerequisite is that the license plate has an “E” on it. You do not need to purchase a parking ticket.

Motorhomes
It is permitted to park your motorhome on the Festplatz free of charge for one night. However, if you park there during the paid parking hours (Monday to Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.), you will also need a parking ticket.
The Technik Museum Speyer offers a proper motorhome parking area.

Use the city bus with your parking ticket
With the parking ticket from the Festplatz, one person can use the city shuttle (city bus line 561) free of charge. Simply show the small part of the parking ticket to the bus driver.

We have listed the parking lots around the city center below. Click on “Map view” at the top right above the list to see the locations of the parking lots.
